I currently don’t have internet access but I guess blogging to a text file will suffice until I can blog this on my site later. Given my last entry, nothing exciting or eventful occurred except that it’s a new year (2008)!!! Nothing really happened during New Years Eve or Australia day that was really worth blogging about. I don’t suppose talking about playing fifa for more than 12 hours straight would be something worth talking about?
Anyway, I’m currently in Brunei (my country of birth) to visit family and celebrate chinese new year. The main idea was to visit my Grandfather since he wasn’t too well. We haven’t seen him yet since he’s in hospital and we’ve only just arrived.
At the moment now, I’m in this little tiny room which looks like it’s supposed to be a balcony!!! wtf?! I’ll have to take pictures of it later but I am fairly sure this room is supposed to be the balcony of the top floor. Doesn’t matter, at least there is air conditioning. I’m in my grandmother’s house where she’s got kinda a house/temple where people usually congregate, pray (?) and talk crap. Should be quite interesting when Chinese New Year starts.
To be honest, Brunei is one of those countries which I really really hate. This country is extremely boring and there isn’t a lot to do here. Except if you want to play golf? or shop? Then again, shopping here is absolute shite since most things here are fake and the dollar is quite high for goods to be considered “cheap”. I guess eating is something that can be done and most probably the next few entries would be about food. I’m not too sure, I just hate this place as there isn’t a lot to do.
When we arrived at my Grandmother’s house, we were waiting around for her as was still fishing. The moment she arrived I gave her a big hug since it’s been nearly 10 years since I last saw her. What surprised me the most was that she has lost an insane amount of weight. When I asked her, she mentioned that her weight was in the vicinity of around 36 kg. Holy moly! I thought I nearly crushed her when I hugged her. As soon we started talking she started lecturing me about drinking excessively as she herself had liver cancer. Urrggghhhh I didn’t come to Brunei for a lecture but I can understand from her point of view why she’d do that. Sigh… I’m the “Golden Child” in the family, I’m not supposed to be lectured!! :’(
Aye, lets hope tomorrow will be a better day.
