Since the last time I updated this blog about work, I’ve stepped back in the role of a team leader but this time it’s a lot better as there is much less politics, people I generally like, a lot more control and flexibility with my role. Anyway, my technical architect had made the comment:
“If you want to see the classic example of how tickets and the code review process to work, take a look at the ticket between Jonathon and Daniel. Albeit Jonathon was a bit of a nazi at it but it was great.”
To be honest, maybe I was a bit of a code nazi…. but NO merge for you! I found it funny that he had made that comment but what can I say? It’s my codebase which I started three years ago… It’s my baby
. God Bless Mr Dan though, even though I put him through a lot of pain and asked him to rework/rewrite code, he was very accommodating and did them promptly.
Since I’ll be leaving Fujitsu pretty soon, I’ve kinda taken a step back and given the guys a lot more flexibility to do what they want to do. Also with a lot of questions, I try to handball it to the rest of the guys just to make sure they can survive without me being there. At times I have to bail their sorry asses but I think they’ll survive.
I am definitely going to miss working with Fujitsu and just when I was having a lot of fun.. I am going to hate the next week or so with the amount of documentation and handover activities
